Tygart Lake State Park is a cozy, quiet getaway for couples and families. It sits among West Virginia's rolling hills and alongside 10-mile long, 1,750-acre Tygart Lake.
It's also perfect for small group conferences and retreats and is a favorite spot for family reunions.
Tygart Lake visitors enjoy great fishing and boating (seasonal) on the mountain-stream fed waters of the lake. Guests that kayak or canoe find mid-week days best for this pursuit.
Tygart Lodge overlooks the lake and offers some of the most comfortable and appealing guest rooms in West Virginia's renowned state park system. In addition to the lake, Tygart features five hiking trails, camping, and two gift shops.
The Boston Beanery Restaurant & Tavern is the restaurant and food service concessionaire at Tygart Lake State Park. Whether you visit Tygart for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the menu choices are plentiful, the lake view refreshing and the prices affordable.

Tygart Lake is a flood control lake protecting areas from West Virginia to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the summer months the lake is held at a relatively normal water level. Between mid-September and April, the lake is drawn down in anticipation of heavier precipitation.

Guests staying overnight at Tygart Lake lodge or vacation cabins, may swim at no charge at Grafton City Swimming Pool during their normal summer hours of operation (does not include special evening events). The Grafton City Swimming pool is an Olympic size pool with a water slide and a zero entry wading pool with waterfalls. Guests checking in at Tygart Lake State Park are given information on how to access this summer fun. There is no public swimming area at Tygart Lake State Park.
